TERMS + CONDITIONS

DEFINITIONS

We, I, and Our refers to Wild Sea Calligraphy. You, Your and the Customer refers to the person whose name appears first on the order form or the name/names on any cheque sent with an order or the name on the credit card used.

QUOTATION AND ACCEPTANCE

A contract shall be made when the Customer accepts in writing within the stated validity period a quotation or other form of offer issued by Wild Sea Calligraphy. Telephone orders shall be deemed accepted only when Wild Sea Calligraphy issues a written acceptance. Wild Sea Calligraphy reserves the right to subcontract its obligations under the Contract. The Customer shall be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the order and for giving Wild Sea Calligraphy any necessary information within a sufficient time to enable Wild Sea Calligraphy to perform the contract in accordance with its terms.

PRICE

The Price shall be that contained in Wild Sea Calligraphy’s quotation or agreed in writing between Wild Sea Calligraphy and the Customer.

SCHEDULE & DELIVERY

The schedule will remain valid providing feedback and communications are well received within the timeline, any delay in response by the client will cause a rearrangement of the agreed schedule. No work will be carried out until Wild Sea Calligraphy receives your written requirements and amendments. If the schedule is not adhered to please be aware this may cause a clash in scheduling with other previously booked clients which is beyond our control and may cause a delay in your project.

Delivery dates quoted represent Wild Sea Calligraphy’s best estimate only and are given in good faith, time not being of the essence. Orders will remain valid and binding notwithstanding delay in delivery. Wild Sea Calligraphy will not be liable for any delay in delivery, failure to deliver, consequential or other loss due to any cause beyond Wild Sea Calligraphy’s reasonable control. Delivery will be effected to the place specified in the order and may be delayed if the Customer fails to provide sufficient information to make the delivery possible.

Order times will vary. Most invite, calligraphy, letterpress orders are completed within 6 – 8 weeks. If a quicker turnaround is required the Customer must contact Wild Sea Calligraphy before ordering – Wild Sea Calligraphy may be able to complete an order within 4 weeks if necessary. Order times stated by Wild Sea Calligraphy refer to printing completion times and not to delivery times.

PAYMENT

Unless otherwise agreed accounts are due for payment upon receipt of the invoice, work will not be undertaken until a 50% non refundable deposit payment has been received, and work will not be printed until a final invoice has been settled.

This studio has a minimum order fee or £100. Work added to an order after project completion will be considered a new job and is again subject to the minimum order amount.

Rush orders incur an additional 50% charge. Expedited shipping rates may also apply.

Jobs done on-site are subject to additional charges, including a per diem fee.

CARRIAGE

Carriage will be by transport of Wild Sea Calligraphy Design’s choice. If the Customer requests special delivery arrangements they will be charged for. International postage will be subject to a charge and can be subject to your countries customs charges which will be your responsibility, dependant on the size and weight of the order.

QUALITY OF PRODUCTS & MATERIALS

Colours and/or materials may differ slightly, the quality of the images online is not comparable with the true products. I advise Customers to request a sample before ordering printed goods. Samples sent may not reflect on the quality of your finished goods as card stock, hand written calligraphy and printing methods may vary between batches. Card dimensions given are approximate and there may be some variation between batches of cards.

Because of the printing method, goods produced at a later date may not match exactly. This applies with all batch printing and is not a compromise of quality for which Wild Sea Calligraphy can be held responsible. I use print suppliers who are based in the UK and I only print on the highest quality paper stocks. My printer utilises digital print; as such there can be a degree of movement in the printing process; up to 1/16-inch and up to 1/32-inch tolerances are quite standard in digital printing. There can also be differences in the final colour between paper stocks, printer types and different batches of print.

For personalised printed orders Wild Sea Calligraphy will produce digital proof copies of all required as standard. Printed copies can be arranged but may be subject to a fee depending on the printing methods involved.

The checking of the proofs, samples and order form is the sole responsibility of the Customer. Wild Sea Calligraphy requires written confirmation either by letter or e-mail that the proof, sample or order form is correct or that amendments are required. Wild Sea Calligraphy will not commence printing until the Customer confirms approval. Please note that e-mail confirmations will be dated and filed. Changes made after confirmation of approval are liable to a charge.

Paper and object type and colour must be established before an order is accepted. Papers and objects with porous, metallic, and glossy surfaces can be problematic for calligraphy, which is why pre-approval is required. Changes in paper type or colour after a price is quoted may result in changes to project cost.

DIGITISED CALLIGRAPHY

Lettering digitised for reproduction is created the traditional way - all created to order, written by hand, then digitised and exported for use in print or on the web.

Digitised lettering is priced on a case-by-case basis depending on the design’s complexity. Prices include a digital proof for client approval and one round of edits.

Prices do not include printing.

Digital designs are delivered as print-ready vectors and high resolution .jpgs.

The quoted prices for digital designs assume that they will be put to personal (i.e. non-commercial) use. Designs created for promotions, wedding or commercial purposes (e.g. company logos, books covers, advertisements) are priced differently. For commercial design prices, please get in touch, providing as many details about the project as possible.

ADDRESS LIST,  INFORMATION FROM YOU & THE POSTAL SYSTEM

It is extremely important that you the customer thoroughly check the address list supplied to Wild Sea Calligraphy for correct spelling of all words and indicate exactly how you want the words to look. Your addresses will be written as they appear on your address list. Please submit your list in a Word document (with no columns or borders). Pay attention to full stops, commas and abbreviations (i.e. St. or Street; Rd. or Road, Ave or Avenue, CO or Colorado for US addresses). Alternatively, Wild Sea Calligraphy needs the leeway of abbreviating text if spacing is an issue due to envelope sizes.

Wild Sea Calligraphy is NOT responsible for resending, reprinting or reimbursing for invitations or addresses that do not make it to their intended address. As with any mass mailing, you are likely to have 1-3% of your pieces be undeliverable.

AMENDMENTS OR CANCELLATIONS

Any amendments that the Customer requires after work has commenced will result in an additional charge at Wild Sea Calligraphy’s discretion.

Any errors on the part of Wild Sea Calligraphy will be rectified at Wild Sea Calligraphy’s cost. Wild Sea Calligraphy may require that any work in question be returned together with a written record of any faults. Postage will be reimbursed to the Customer only where the fault lies with Wild Sea Calligraphy. Orders may be replaced or rectified at Wild Sea Calligraphy’s discretion.

Your order is created and assembled to order therefore I am unable to provide refunds for unwanted designs nor can I accept cancellations once calligraphy or printing has commenced. There will be a charge if your order is cancelled before calligraphy or printing but after proofs have been compiled. This charge is variable depending upon the complexity of the order and time spent but will not be less than £50.00. I strongly advise you to request a sample of your preferred design prior to ordering to avoid possible disappointment.

REVISIONS

I include up to 3 revisions of customised and bespoke work. Any further revisions will incur a fee of £30 per revision. If a substantial design change is required I will send you an amended quote for the new work and invoice you for the work already carried out.

WORKSHOPS

If for any reason a workshop has to be cancelled by Wild Sea Calligraphy attendees will be notified as soon as possible and an alternative workshops date and if required venue will be secured. All tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. If the class has to be cancelled due to illness Wild Sea Calligraphy will make every endeavour to find a replacement teacher or will postpone the workshop and rearrange for another date.
