Thank you all so much for your patience with the postponed workshops, at the moment I’m still unsure as to when these will be ready to go ahead again but please be rest assured that as soon as I know what the government and venues have in place for social groups then I’ll be able to work out how to best re-start workshops in a new socially distanced format.
Teaching Kids Calligraphy
For the whole of the lockdown I’ll be offering my kids calligraphy worksheets for you to download and print for free. They are a great creative resource for budding calligraphers. All you need is a Crayola pen or similar brush pen and to follow each page step by step, tracing first and then practicing after.
My calligraphy journey
For me my modern calligraphy journey started way back in 2009. I used to spend my lunch breaks reading blog posts on Design Sponge and looking at all the stunning wedding stationery that was featured.
How Can I Improve My Calligraphy?
Indeed it’s a question that I pretty much ask myself all the time especially when struggling to learn different styles. In the case of pretty much everything we learn, including calligraphy - the best advice really is “practice makes perfect”.
What is Modern Calligraphy?
For me I love all forms of calligraphy and whilst I’ll spend the rest of my life learning every possible style that I can find, I will never forget my adoration of modern calligraphy. It was the first style that I feel really connected with me, I learnt my basic strokes.
What is Spencerian Calligraphy?
If you feel that you have progressed from modern calligraphy and are now taking an interest in the other forms of pointed pen calligraphy available then I am sure that you have probably seen this still of calligraphy when browsing the web.
