How to connect your lettering in modern calligraphy

So this is a little video showing you how I connect my letters together to create words. You can see it's not difficult - it just takes a lot of practice which you can do with a pencil while you are working it out.

This is all self taught so there are probably better ways to do this but this works for me and works for how I teach, you can see how I've also realised how easily italic handwriting connections work at joining together.

I always encourage my students to take a look at lettering around them and take inspiration from entrance, exit and connection strokes the see on signage, menus, packaging, branding etc
