World Calligraphy Day 2025 at Fortnum & Mason

To celebrate World Calligraphy Day 2025, I was delighted to spend the day at the beautiful Fortnum & Mason stationery department, partnering with Manuscript Pen Company to demonstrate their calligraphy pens, nibs and inks.

Fortnum & Mason is always a joy to visit, but being surrounded by such a thoughtfully curated stationery space made the day feel especially special. From luxurious papers to timeless writing tools, it was the perfect setting to celebrate the art of hand lettering.

Throughout the day, I demonstrated a selection of Manuscript’s calligraphy products, showing how different nibs, inks and pen holders can be used to create a variety of styles. It was wonderful to chat with visitors, answer questions and share simple tips for getting started with calligraphy, whether they were complete beginners or already familiar with the craft.

What I loved most was seeing people pause, watch and then feel inspired to pick up a pen themselves. World Calligraphy Day is all about slowing down and reconnecting with the beauty of writing by hand, and the atmosphere in the stationery department reflected exactly that.

A huge thank you to Fortnum & Mason for hosting us and to Manuscript Pen Company for partnering with me on such a lovely day celebrating calligraphy.
