Date: Sunday 18th October, 2206
Time: 12:45 pm – 4:30 pm
Location: The Coach House, Bodrean, Truro, Cornwall, TR4 9AG
Perfect for anyone looking to explore and develop their creative side, this engaging workshop is led by Lyndsey of Wild Sea Calligraphy, offering a welcoming introduction to the art of brush lettering. A cream tea will be served during the break mid-afternoon.
During the session, you’ll learn the foundations of brush pen technique, starting with simple strokes and shapes before progressing to forming letters and building a full brush lettering alphabet. Lyndsey will guide you step by step, helping you understand pressure control, consistency, and flow, all essential for creating well formed, expressive lettering. You’ll also practice composing basic words, phrases, and quotes, allowing you to see how individual letters come together into finished pieces.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll feel confident creating your own hand-lettered designs, whether that’s meaningful quotes, personalised messages, or decorative words to share with others. This is a relaxed and supportive environment, suitable for complete beginners as well as those looking to refine their skills.
All materials are provided, and you’ll take home your own brush lettering kit, including a high-quality brush pen and helpful guide sheets, so you can continue practicing and developing your style long after the workshop ends.
Covid Update
To keep everyone safe at my workshops I have worked closely with my venue to make sure social distancing and hygiene is hugely prioritised. I will now be using a projector screen during my workshops to enable attendees to get a really close look at how I write and create lettering (without any close contact from me). I will be wearing a mask during the session and would appreciate my attendees also doing the same. Each table will come with a hand sanitiser and will be cleaned before each workshop. Please respect the health of myself and other attendees - if you are feeling in any way unwell, please let me know and I will hold your ticket space until my next available workshop.
This workshop is non-refundable. Please present your receipt on the day of your workshop. For all information regarding the workshop booking please visit my Frequently Asked Questions page here.
