CalliFest brings together calligraphers and lettering artists from around the world to mark World Calligraphy Day with free workshops, demonstrations and inspiration for all skill levels.
To celebrate World Calligraphy Day 2025, I was delighted to spend the day at the beautiful Fortnum & Mason stationery department, partnering with Manuscript Pen Company to demonstrate their calligraphy pens, nibs and inks.
One of the greatest joys of working as a calligrapher is collaborating with creative teams who truly value detail, atmosphere and craftsmanship. This recent brush lettering project for a very extravagant birthday party in London, planned and designed by Lillingston Events, was exactly that.
I was honoured to be commissioned by the Eden Project to create a bespoke piece of calligraphy to be presented to their Chinese counterparts to mark the opening of Oriental Eden. This was a deeply meaningful project, celebrating not only the launch of a new Eden site, but also the shared values, friendship and collaboration between East and West.

Being invited to create a piece of calligraphy art in support of The Manuscript Pen Company rebrand was a real honour, particularly knowing the depth of history behind the brand. Manuscript has been producing writing instruments since 1856, a legacy that places craftsmanship, innovation and a love of the written word at its very core.

It was fantastic to be asked back to teach Modern Calligraphy and the art of lettering to the Graphic Design and also Textile Design students at Plymouth Arts University this past fortnight. The students were really fun to teach and so engaged in learning a new script. I look forward to seeing what they create with this new skill.
